POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
中華料理 明洋軒
Meiyoken offers sets pairing fried rice with ramen, as well as combinations with gyoza or fried chicken. Here, visitors share their impressions of the generous fried rice portions and the light-tasting ramen.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Meiyoken, the sets pair ramen with different dishes, depending on whether you want a substantial serving of fried rice or would rather add gyoza or fried chicken. Visitors describe Set B as a regular portion of fried rice with a small ramen, a combination to consider if you want the fried rice to take centre stage. One diner found the fried rice moist, with pickled red ginger adding a bright accent. Another reported that even the set’s “small fried rice” felt more generous than a typical small portion, making it a choice for a filling lunch.
Set D brings together fried rice, gyoza and ramen. One visitor recalled the small ramen’s soup as light-tasting, while describing the fried rice as moist and well seasoned. Diners have noted different qualities in the gyoza: some mention a crisp underside, while others remember a chewy wrapper and a modest amount of filling. One review also describes the dipping sauce as thick. Even as a side to fried rice and ramen, the gyoza offers its own point of interest.
Some sets pair ramen with fried chicken instead. One diner found the chicken flavourful enough to go well with rice, making it an option when you’d prefer a meal centred on a side dish rather than fried rice. The à la carte menu also lists chashu ramen, champon, sauce yakisoba and a Chinese-style rice bowl, among other dishes. Whether you want noodles and rice together in a set or a single dish, the menu has the range associated with a neighbourhood Chinese-style diner.
